Sprout has no account, no server of its own, no analytics and no advertising. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile of you anywhere. This page says exactly what that means, including the one thing that does leave your phone.
All of it, apart from the exception in the next section. Your plants and the species you chose for them, their nicknames, pots, rooms and positions on your floor plan; every photo you take; every diary entry, measurement and milestone; your name, your pets, how you described your experience; your watering history and your reminder schedule.
These live in your browser's local storage, or in the app's own storage on your phone. They are never uploaded, never backed up to us, and never seen by anyone but you. We could not retrieve them if you asked.
If you set a location, Sprout needs a weather forecast for it, and forecasts come from Open-Meteo.
Setting a location is optional. The app works without one; you lose the forecast suggestions and nothing else.
Morning reminders are scheduled by your phone's own operating system, not by a server. There is no push service and no subscription, so no third party learns when your plants need watering — or that you use Sprout at all. Sprout works out what is due on the device and hands the list to the OS to deliver.
Sprout is not directed at children and collects nothing that could identify anyone, of any age.
Uninstalling the app removes everything, because everything is on the device. In the browser, clearing site data does the same. You can clear a saved location on its own from Profile at any time. There is no server copy to request the deletion of.
If what Sprout does with your data ever changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. It is written from the code rather than around it, so it cannot quietly drift out of date.
